Bridge Institute was delighted to speak at The Institute for Research into Superdiversity’s (IRiS) international conference.
The two day conference theme centred on ‘Global perspectives on Research Co-Production with Communities’: Ontologies, Epistemologies and Methodologies.
The conference explored the benefits of utilising community-engaged research.
Abida spoke about her research on Muslim civic actors within Britain and lessons that can be learnt in relation to their participation in society. The research showed how stigmatised civic actors overcame their ‘stigma’ by increasing their activism within society to present an ‘authentic Muslim self’.
